During term-time, the post holder will primarily provide support to the teaching lab’s senior technical staff to ensure the safe and efficient running of classes within the undergraduate laboratory, and to ensure that all equipment and solutions are prepared and put away as required.  The post holder will also be required to support the department in other areas, as required by the Technical Operations Manager. In addition, Post 2 will also provide dedicated part time support to PGCE teaching activities in the Department of Education.  Knowledge of general laboratory and health and safety processes, the ability to perform routine practical tasks to a high standard, and experience of working in a scientific environment are essential for the post, although specific training will be provided where necessary.
