Role Description

We are looking for talented professionals to join a leading York employer based at the University of York. As a Chef de Partie you will have a passion for food production and fine dining, with the ability to produce both quality and quantity high volume catering.  Working alongside our award-winning team, you will prepare delicious home cooked food using fresh ingredients to ensure food is presented to the highest standards and complies with all relevant regulations and standards.

You will preferably have experience in high volume food production and be able to demonstrate the ability to cook quality fresh food for students and staff on our campus.  You will also possess NVQ 2 or equivalent and a food safety qualification such as Foundation Food Hygiene certificate.  Full training will be provided and there are excellent career progression opportunities.

Hours of work will average 37 per week on a “5 days out of 7” basis but there is a need for flexibility to support business demand. There will be a proportion of evening and occasional weekend work.

You will be entitled to 38 days annual leave which includes bank holidays and downtime over Christmas and New Year.

Uniform is provided and there will be no split shifts.

The starting salary offered is £20,392 per annum, plus generous employee benefits.
