Role Description

Department

This role in the Faculty of Social Sciences arises from a collaboration with the University’s Library, Archives and Learning Services to enhance the transition, academic language development, academic skills and success of our international Masters level students. 

Role

You will have the opportunity to develop University services with a large international department, working with programme and module leaders to embed language and academic skills support within their programmes, developing and delivering academic skills workshops, and establishing and maintaining supportive student learning communities, all as part of a creative, dynamic team. 

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

You will have a qualification relating to English language teaching practice (or equivalent recognition), experience of teaching international students from a range of backgrounds and levels, and experience of supporting students with transition to higher study.  You will be a collaborative and supportive team member with knowledge of the national HE teaching and learning agenda and of current research in HE pedagogy, a proactive and positive approach, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

The post is available from Sept 1st 2021. The salary will be on the Grade 6 scale, £32,817 - £40,322 per year.
