York Trials Unit (YTU) situated in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of York wishes to appoint a Trial Support Officer to join our highly successful and fully accredited Trials Unit. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with a strong background in research co-ordination/administration and an interest in pursuing a career in trials.
You will assist with the setup and co-ordination of randomised controlled trials, assist with provision of documentation to obtain appropriate ethical approval and assist with the writing of summary reports and publications, all under the supervision and direction of a trial co-ordinator and/or senior trial manager. This will involve liaising with members of the research team (including secretarial and administrative staff, trial managers, trial co-ordinators, data managers, statisticians, health economists and qualitative researchers). This post is to work across several funded projects, the type of projects will partly depend upon the background and experience of the successful candidate.
It may become a requirement for anyone successfully appointed to this role to undertake an enhanced DBS check, in order to undertake specific project work. Appointees will be asked to declare any spent convictions at the point at which a project requires an enhanced DBS check. The enhanced DBS check will then be carried out before they undertake work relating to that specific project.
