Role Description

Department

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well organised Admissions Team Leader to work within the busy Admissions team of the Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Outreach Office at the University of York. A friendly and helpful manner is essential, combined with a flexible approach to work and an ability to work efficiently to tight deadlines.

You will coordinate the administration of the admissions operation for a number of academic departments, working closely with the respective Admissions Manager.

You will successfully manage the workflow of your team to ensure that resources are deployed effectively in order to maintain high standards of service and support for both external and internal stakeholders.

You will liaise with colleagues in academic departments to ensure that admissions decisions are appropriate, fair and consistent and that strict recruitment round deadlines are met, whilst also carrying out a range of administrative processes in order to provide an efficient and effective admissions service.

In the Undergraduate Admissions Team Leader post you will also coordinate post-offer visit days for offer holders.

With the ability to manage a team, and ideally experience of working in higher education admissions, you will possess excellent communication skills and have a keen eye for detail. You will enjoy working in a team with the ability to use your own initiative. You will have excellent IT and word processing skills with experience of using databases and spreadsheets.

Interview date: 18 November 2020
