The Department of Health Sciences is looking to appoint a Research Associate with experience in quantitative evaluation methods and evidence synthesis to support research activities within a portfolio of linked projects exploring inequalities in perinatal mental health, and the development and evaluation of interventions to improve the health and wellbeing of children and families.
You will work under the supervision and mentorship of Dr Sarah Blower and Dr Stephanie Prady.

You will split your time between two projects.
Better Start Bradford Innovation Hub: You will conduct research and contribute to the design and implementation of research approaches to evaluate and analyse the effectiveness of multiple interventions delivered in the early years to improve the health of children. In addition, you will write up and disseminate results through publications, seminar and conference presentations and public engagement activities; contribute to the identification of possible new areas of research; liaise with staff and investigators in BiB and in our other Bradford-based studies; and develop an independent research agenda.
Perinatal mental health: You will contribute to the development of an applied research programme linked to the Yorkshire and Humber Applied Research Collaboration investigating inequalities in perinatal mental health and healthcare. You will conduct research to investigate the presence, scale and nature of inequalities and contribute to the identification of interventions to reduce disparities using various research methods and techniques. You will identify potential areas for new research and funding sources.
Condition of appointment: This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. Consequently, all applicants will be asked to declare both unspent and spent convictions on their application form.
Appointment of the successful candidate will be conditional on a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
The post is fixed term for 2 years.
