The role holder will work in the group of Dr Victor Chechik in Chemistry. The multidisciplinary project is funded by the European Commission and involves collaboration with a range of European partners in academia and industry. The main aim of the project is to develop chemically-modified electrical sensors for atmospherically-relevant free radicals. The key York contribution to the project is design and synthesis of radical sensor molecules, development of mechanistic understanding of their reactivity and selectivity in free radical reactions. The collaborative ideas developed by our team have a potential to revolutionise free radical detection.
