Department

The WordPress Front-end Developer will be part of the White Rose Industrial Physics Academy (WRIPA) and will be based in the Department of Physics at the University of York.  You will develop imaginative and engaging web designs for the WordPress WRIPA website. The purpose of the WRIPA website is to convey specific and helpful information to several audiences, such as companies, undergraduate students and academic members of staff.  You will be responsible for implementing web design, embedded components and enhanced functionality.  In addition, you will collaborate with colleagues across the WRIPA universities to support the development of career readiness digital tools and integrate these new digital components into the WRIPA website.  WRIPA’s evolving website will better inform physics students of national and regional career opportunities and promote the physics students’ skills base and departmental expertise to regional employers. This role will support the strategic aim of WRIPA to improve the employability of all physics graduates, irrespective of where they choose to work.

Role

If you have experience of developing websites and applications using modern HTML and CSS, then this could be the role for you. You will work closely with the WRIPA Project Manager, Content Developer and the wider WRIPA team to implement web design and to integrate career readiness digital tools into the WRIPA website.  The result will be an engaging and accessible website that promotes WRIPA-employer interactions and supports physics students to make better informed career choices.  This role will suit an individual who is proactive, has attention to detail and an excellent team player.
