Role Description


York Health Economics Consortium (YHEC) is a health economics research and consulting company owned by, and based at the University of York.  We currently have a number of opportunities for experienced Project Directors to join us in our Review and Information Services (RIS) team.  We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with expertise in; Systematic reviews, Statistical Analysis or Medical Writing.

The Role
As Project Director, you will lead multiple projects within the RIS team. Working closely with clients as their primary contact for YHEC, you will ensure client expectations are managed from proposal to completion.  You will be proactive and contribute to the opportunities for growth in existing markets, generating additional income by identifying opportunities and preparing proposals/tenders.

As Project Director, you will also contribute to the leadership of the organisation, mentoring and developing the skills of junior colleagues.  Ensuring training is provided where appropriate to develop a pool of talented staff.

Key Requirements

  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant field.
  • In-depth understanding of systematic review processes.
  • Good understanding of methods to synthesise clinical data from trials and observational studies.
  • Well-developed project management skills.
  • Strong presentation skills and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong client management skills.
  • Experience of providing consultancy to clients in the health sector.
  • Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and to inspire a highly motivated group of researchers.
