Role Description


The Department of History seeks to appoint a Student Services Manager, based in Vanbrugh College on Campus West. This is a full-time post available to start at the end of June 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.


You will be responsible for leading a team of administrative staff, working together to provide a full range of administrative support to all Departmental academic programmes. This involves developing and implementing policies and procedures to support this work and managing all operational aspects, to include the following key areas of responsibility: student admissions and recruitment, student induction, the creation and maintenance of student records, Tier 4 arrangements, module choices, administrative support for students with disabilities, teaching data and timetabling, VLE administration, student funding, progression, assessment and curriculum development.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

You will have a thorough knowledge of student-related processes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, to include student recruitment, administration relating to current students, and progression / assessment, with the ability to supervise a team and apply available resources to optimum effect. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to take a proactive approach to the post. The ability to review and develop existing provision, planning ahead for future provision, is also an essential part of the role.
