The Department of Chemistry seeks applications for a Professor in Sustainable Chemistry and Director of the Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence (GCCE) from outstanding individuals with demonstrated research excellence in green or sustainable chemistry. The GCCE which has strengths in: biobased materials and renewable resources; sustainable solvents; carbon dioxide utilisation; clean synthesis and platform molecules; and microwave processing.
The Department of Chemistry is one of the largest and most successful academic departments at York, placed in the top ten UK for Research Power by the 2014 Research Excellence Framework exercise (REF). The Role
You will be a dynamic research leader with a proven track record and will work alongside colleagues in the Department in helping York further enhance its very strong reputation, through research and publication, teaching, networking and consultancy. You will be expected to direct the GCCE, play a significant role within the research theme of Green and Sustainable Chemistry and contribute to the teaching of these subjects at York.
