Department

The Department of Computer Science  is a vibrant research-driven community of 73 academic staff and 47 research associated delivering an excellent education to 690 undergraduates, 220 Masters and 180 PhD students in a range of innovative and internationally recognised research-led programmes.

The Department boasts a successful research study environment, attracting high calibre students from around the world. The continued success of our research study provision is vital to the ongoing growth and development of the Department.

Role

Applications are invited for this full-time post within the Department of Computer Science.  You will administer the Department’s Postgraduate Research studies, from application to graduation. You will be the main point of contact for staff, students and University departments.

The Postgraduate Research Administrator is part of the Postgraduate Research Administration and Support Team and works closely with the Chair of the Research Studies Committee.

The post is available on an open-ended basis and is available from the earliest opportunity.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

This is key role within a busy function that requires exceptional attention to detail, data input accuracy, customer service and effective working. You will have experience in managing large volumes of data using a variety MS Office and Google applications.  You will able to work independently and proactively together with working as part of a team.

You will be communicating extensively with students and their academic supervisors, as well as other colleagues within the Department and University. You will exhibit an enthusiastic, proactive and professional approach to your work. A friendly and helpful manner is essential, as is a flexible approach to work.
