The University of York International Pathway College (IPC), provides new routes for International students to access the transformational higher education programmes of the University of York. The IPC offers high quality programmes designed, academically led, taught and managed by the University.
The role holder will be responsible for the effective academic management of the programmes offered by the IPC. As Academic Director, the role holder will maintain high academic standards in line with the University’s quality assurance processes, providing an excellent international student experience, with onward progression to the University’s higher education programmes. This is a temporary appointment to provide additional support to the academic team, during a period of rapid growth. The role holder will focus on a limited number of projects, working with the IPC Director to deploy resources accordingly. The role holder will work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, in delivering a seamless student experience in the College.
The role is available on a part-time or full time basis, for a period of three to six months.
The role holder will have significant involvement in the management and leadership of teaching, line managing staff as required, including managing performance and development. They will ensure effective use of teaching resources and undertake a range of associated administrative and managerial responsibilities. The Academic Director will work alongside the IPC Director and the Student Support Director to ensure there are strong working relationships between Academic, Student Support, Marketing and Recruitment staff.
