Role Description

Due to continued expansion the York Management School (TYMS) is seeking to appoint an outstanding academic at Lecturer level in Operations and Supply Chain Management. We would particularly, though not exclusively, welcome applications from people with a strong quantitative background and we would welcome candidates from areas such as operations, project management, logistics and supply chain more broadly.

What is important is that you are capable of delivering excellent interdisciplinary and impactful research that advances your subject area nationally and internationally and contributes to the School mission which is to become a leading business school for interdisciplinary research. Additionally, you will be collegiate and committed to enhancing the student experience through the delivery of an excellent teaching and learning experience for all our undergraduates and postgraduates. Further, you will have (or be in the process of being examined for) a PhD or equivalent experience, an appropriate academic professional and teaching qualification or a willingness to complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice; and the ability to write and/or contribute to publications and/or to disseminate research findings at conferences or exhibit work at other appropriate events internally and externally.

As the successful candidate, you will develop research objectives, projects and proposals and carry out individual or collaborative research projects; lead on and/or contribute to the production of research outputs and research outcomes; and design, develop and deliver teaching across a wide range of modules and/or within a particular programme or subject area. You will also publish original research in appropriate journals or other relevant media as appropriate and attend international conferences for the purpose of disseminating research results or for personal development and undertake effectively a range of administrative and managerial responsibilities.

This is an exciting time to join the York Management School and play a role in a fast-growing department of the University of York whose vision is to be internationally recognised for its academic excellence, distinctiveness, student experience and contribution to the well-being of wider society.
