Role Description

Risk and Audit Manager– Leading UK University

The Higher Education environment is becoming increasingly uncertain and complex, therefore the University is seeking a high calibre person to lead the risk management processes across the University. The person will ensure that risk management is embedded in decision making processes and supports the achievement of the University’s strategy. In addition the person will work with management and auditors to ensure that matters raised by auditors are completed on time.  Working for one of the UK’s leading higher education institutions, the role offers a first-rate working environment and excellent career opportunity, whilst benefiting from a campus based community environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for leading and supporting the University in implementing its new risk management process, help in defining its risk appetite, and provide ongoing assurance about the adherence to and compliance with University risk management procedures.

You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting progress on completing recommendations made by internal and external auditors to ensure these are finalised on a timely basis.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to build a network of key contacts across the University, and be a team player with a drive to get things right first time.

Key Requirements:

  • Educated to Degree level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of risk management processes, procedures and best practice
  • Ability to establish and nurture productive partnerships
