Role Description

Finance

The Finance Department is one of the support directorates at the University.  The Arts & Humanities and Social Science Faculty Management Accounts teams are both part of the Academic Accounting Team and exist to provide financial support and information to the departments and units within the faculties, the faculty Deans, associated committees and the University Senior Management

Role

This is a newly created role to improve capacity and support the production of accurate financial management information for both the Arts & Humanities and Social Science faculties.  The role will provide essential financial support and work closely with both faculty management accounts teams as well as to colleagues within the associated academic department.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

  • You will have a good general level of education to include 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above (including Maths and English), or an equivalent qualification, and will ideally have or be working towards a relevant finance qualification
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and procedures together with experience of analysing data and presenting financial information in a clear and concise format for a wide range of people.
  • The financial operations of modern UK universities are extremely diverse and, as such, this role requires good experience of dealing with the finances of large, complex organisations and systems:
  • You will be able to manage your own workload day-to-day but also work effectively with a team spread over multiple locations

The University is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community  – a place where we can all be ourselves and succeed on merit. We offer a range of family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, staff engagement forums, campus facilities and services to support staff from different backgrounds.
