Role Description

Role

This new role within the Research Strategy and Policy Office is to support the implementation of a revised research ethics and compliance framework.  You should have a commitment to principles of research integrity and supporting ethical considerations across the range of academic activities.  You will work with others supporting research governance and compliance:

A key area of work will be a focus on the operational aspects of ensuring that the University's policies, systems and processes for academic ethics and compliance reflect the evolving requirements of key research funders. In particular, you will support the newly created Academic Ethics and Compliance Committee and help strengthen the mechanisms linking academic and subject level Ethics Committees with the University's overarching Ethics and Governance Framework.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

  • You should be educated to degree standard, with an awareness of research administration and current policy matters.  You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a wide range of staff, underpinned by strong IT skills.
  • You should have an understanding of administrative research support and the national priorities on relation to policy in relation to the Higher Education Sector.
  • You will be able to demonstrate your organised and methodical approach to tasks, to meet deadlines and produce work to a high standard.
  • You must have a commitment to the principles underpinning research integrity and demonstrate how these principles apply to your own work.
