Role Description

We are recruiting to the new post of part-time Finance Administrator in the Finance Department. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, forward thinking and adaptable individual to take a key part in providing effective and efficient management and coordination of the day-to-day financial operations, accounting services and systems for the Department of Sociology. 


You will co-ordinate and support the day-to-day financial and purchasing operations of an academic department. You will work closely with both the Finance Department and the Department of Sociology.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

  • You will have a good general level of education to include 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above (including Maths and English), or an equivalent qualification, and will ideally have or be working towards a relevant finance qualification.
  • You will have thorough knowledge of administrative procedures and processes and a sound understanding of financial regulations and procedures.
  • It is essential that you can communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people at all levels within the departments.
  • You will be able to manage your own workload day-to-day but also work effectively with a team spread over multiple locations.

This post is available on a part time basis for 18.5 hours a week.
