Introduction / The Role

This exciting new role is an opportunity to work with one of the University’s innovative subsidiaries; The Biorenewables Development Centre, based at Dunnington.

Working as part of the wider University Finance Department You will be the first point of contact for a range of financial queries and leading on a number of transactional duties such as the processing of supplier invoices, payments, expenses and grant claims. You will have a crucial part to play in promoting good practice and developing processes to ensure timely and accurate data is available to the management team.

The role is 15hrs per week over not less than three days and the starting salary will be £21,814 - £25,217 a year, pro-rata on grade 4 of the University scales.

 

Key requirements

The appointment will suit a person who has practical accounting experience within a medium to large organisation, delivering front-line finance support to colleagues. You will liaise with a number of budget holders of mixed financial awareness so you should be an active communicator with a flexible, ‘can do’ approach.

You will be able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently. In addition you will be friendly and enthusiastic, with the flexibility to prioritise a varied workload and maintain a customer-service focus.
