Role Description

The Department of Electronic Engineering seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and customer-focussed administrator to join our administrative support team.

You will carry out a range of administrative processes in order to facilitate the smooth running of the Department, along with other related academic matters.  You will provide support to various departmental committees and members of our academic staff.  The main focus of the role is to support our departmental degree programmes.  This will give you the opportunity to work closely with key Committee Chairs and other members of academic staff in an interesting and varied role.  You will provide efficient and professional student facing support in the Department's busy General Office, dealing with queries, handling special cases and exceptional circumstances, and a range of other activities across the student life-cycle.

You will use a variety of IT systems, including specific University and Departmental systems, for which training will be provided.  You will have strong IT skills and a willingness to learn new skills.  You will have excellent communication skills, a thorough knowledge of admin procedures and processes used in a busy office.  You will be well organised, able to prioritise your own work, but also a team player.  You will have an eye for detail, commitment to quality and the ability to demonstrate discretion and maintain confidentiality.

This is a full time role and the department operates a flexi-time system, with the team covering the office opening hours between 0900 - 1700 hrs between them.
