Are you an enthusiastic, creative and proactive alumni relations professional with a proven track record in engaging international alumni?
Are you able to understand the needs and preferences of a diverse range of audiences, including graduates living outside the UK whose first language is not English?
Would you like to help us transform how we engage with York alumni around the world?
An opening for a full-time International Volunteering and Alumni Officer is now available in the Office of Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni (OPPA), which is responsible for philanthropy and alumni relations at the University of York. This new role has been created as part of a major new investment in student recruitment and alumni community engagement in three key international markets: Hong Kong and China, India, and South-east Asia.
This role will bring new focus and expertise to York’s international volunteering and alumni engagement. We aim to deliver a step change in alumni engagement, benefitting not only the target countries but the alumni experience of all York graduates around the world.
As International Volunteering and Alumni Officer, you will primarily be responsible for:
- engaging international alumni and friends, including volunteers, with the University;
- building close-knit relationships with international recruitment colleagues, providing efficient alumni engagement support as required by the International Alumni Plan;
- developing standards and processes for international alumni activity;
- jointly project-managing the International Alumni Plan alongside another new OPPA team member - the International Communications Officer.
You will be part of a 3-role Volunteering and Alumni Team responsible for engaging all alumni and volunteers at the University of York. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in communications, data analysis, fundraising and supporter relations to deliver a truly audience-centric engagement programme that offers a first-class experience to all alumni and volunteers.
The International Volunteering and Alumni Officer role is full-time and based on the University’s Heslington Campus. The role does not require regular international travel.
The closing date for applications is 24 March 2019
