Role Description

We are looking for a qualified Electrical Engineer (Building Services) to join our Estates team to help develop our expanding campus. Estates Services manages an exciting and diverse range of capital and revenue developments, with a current programme of around £50m. Your role will be key to defining and implementing changes to improve the safety, reliability and functionality of our properties and other assets.

The Role

  • Oversee a range of electrical services, including fire alarm systems, architectural and
  • functional lighting, generators and combined heat and power backup systems
  • Define the electrical system’s technical standards for the estate
  • Implement statutory and safety compliance procedures
  • Deliver or guide projects and improvements
  • Provide specialist technical advice to the wider maintenance and development teams

Projects may include: new builds of state of the art buildings and research facilities; the nurture of historic buildings of architectural importance, and event management, including public and sporting events.

Key Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant electrical discipline & membership of a professional body
  • Knowledge of practical and theoretical electrical engineering systems
  • Experience of health and safety risk management techniques
  • Experience in managing teams
  • Knowledge of specialist equipment including high voltage and low voltage switchgear/plant and associated electrical protection
  • Understanding of health and safety and risk within an estates environment

Proven electrical building services engineering experience is expected and you should be comfortable with working in an ever-changing environment

Salary: £39,609 - £48,677 a year + Benefits which include: Pension, Health & Dental Insurance, childcare vouchers and interest free season ticket loans.
