Role Description

Creative Media Labs

Creative Media Labs (CML) is a newly funded research and development partnership, bringing together academia and industry to develop innovative approaches to immersive and interactive storytelling across film, TV, games and other digital media. CML is led by the University of York, with its core partners, Screen Yorkshire and the British Film Institute. We are seeking an experienced, personable and pro-active administrator to work alongside the members of CML’s Executive and Delivery Teams. You will formally be employed in the University’s Department of Theatre, Film and Television, but you will report to the CML Programme Manager. You will be based either on the University’s East Campus or in York city centre.

The Role

You will provide administrative support to the Director, the Partnership Manager and other members of the Executive and Delivery Teams, contributing to the effective and efficient operation of CML.  You will be the first point of contact for partners and stakeholders, and develop online communications, promotional and marketing materials. You will organise and service board meetings and larger events and make diary and travel arrangements. You will help develop and maintain information and relationship management systems, support the financial management of the project, assist with staff recruitment and contribute to project reports.

Skills, Experience & Qualification Needed

You will bring a good understanding and experience of administrative systems and an ability to develop professional and effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including industry partners. You will bring excellent communication and IT skills, experience of organising meetings and larger events, and a good understanding of report-writing. You will ideally have experience of supporting financial transactions and reporting and capturing project performance information. If you have experience of working in a university setting and/or in the film/TV/games/creative digital industries, that will be a bonus. You will have three passes at A level, or an equivalent educational qualification, or relevant experience.

This is a fixed term position for 4 years.
