Role Description

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Triathlon Coach to join our team.

York Sport has recently launched our junior triathlon programme with bike/run sessions for children aged 8-11. These have proved very successful and we would like to grow the programme further to widen the age bracket and to incorporate a swim element to the programme.

The current session runs on a Wednesday evening from 5.00 – 6.30pm and ideally you would be available to support this, although there may be flexibility in delivery times for the right candidate. Further paid coaching opportunities may also be available during the school holidays should this be of interest.

Essential attributes:

  • A recognised coaching qualification (Ideally Triathlon Level 2)
  • A friendly, outgoing personality with a positive can-do attitude.
  • An ability to motivate and enthuse groups of children with energy and enthusiasm.
  • Good behavioural management skills.
  • Excellent organisational, verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
  • Ability to work in the UK.

We would also be interested in talking to fully qualified athletics coaches with a view to delivering the run element to the programme.

Please note a DBS will need to be completed by successful applicants.

Other desirable attributes:

  • Experience of working with young children and / or previous coaching experience.
  • A passion for sport.

The salary will be £12.81 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay rate), the hours of work are typically 1-4 hours per week term time only, subject to bookings.  Please note we cannot guarantee hours each week.  Hours of work will usually take place on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
