Role Description


York Neuroimaging Centre (YNiC) undertakes leading research in Cognitive Neuroscience.  It is part of the Department of Psychology, one of the country’s leading departments.  Researchers and students in Psychology and other disciplines use YNiC to probe the function, structure and chemistry of the human brain and their relationships with human behaviour.  Maintaining a state-of-the-art neuroimaging centre requires constant updating and development of technology and methodology. 


This role is to support the research at YNiC by providing the necessary input to technology and methodology that underpins excellent research.  The role will also involve significant input to communication with and training of those using the centre.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

You will have a degree and preferably Masters or equivalent in a scientific discipline.  You will have knowledge and experience of neuroimaging and will have completed a research project in the discipline.  You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and preferably experience of training people in the use of equipment.  You will have knowledge of safety issues in neuroimaging and the role of maintenance of equipment in safety.

This post is available part time (22.2 hours a week) on an Open Contract.
