The Department of Biology is seeking to appoint a Department Manager, as the current postholder is leaving to take on another role in the University.
The Department Manager will lead on the delivery of the business and administrative services which underpin the Department’s academic activities and to assist the Head of Department and Department Management Team in advancing and delivering the strategy of the department by developing and implementing effective policies and practices.
We are seeking an outstanding manager with experience of working in the higher-education sector, with proven skills in team building and leadership, and in developing and implementing strategic plans in a large organisation. Applicants should be excellent communicators with strong analytical and problem solving skills, able to develop practical and strategic plans, present them persuasively to individuals at all levels of the organisation, and implement them in a timely manner.
