Based in a busy office at the core of the organisation, Planning Officers are at the heart of strategic decision making and a trusted source of advice for academic departments.  These roles provide an excellent opportunity to acquire a broad perspective on the work of the University and its position in the higher education environment, and at the same time to develop a detailed understanding of the issues facing particular departments.

You will work with staff from across the University, at all levels, and work closely with Department Management Teams, Deans and other senior managers, facilitating and advising on development of departmental strategies and progressing particular projects. You will play an active role on key University and Faculty committees.

You will need a wide range of skills and abilities, including an analytical mind-set, excellent communication skills and a capacity to work with people at all levels in both support and academic areas.

The posts are based in the Planning Office, within the Corporate Services team, and report to the Director of Planning.

The posts are available as full-time, open contracts with starting salary of £39,609 - £48,676 on Grade 7 of the University scales.For internal candidates, we would also consider applications for a one-year secondment.
