Are you an enthusiastic and creative communications professional who can lead, motivate and develop a small, newly-formed Communications Team?

Do you have excellent digital communications skills, including web design and social media management?

Would you like to use and develop your skills across a diverse range of communications, technology and customer care projects, delivering an exceptional comms programme to the University’s donors, volunteers and alumni?

An opening for a full-time Communications and Digital Manager is now available in the Office of Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni (OPPA), which is responsible for philanthropy and alumni relations at the University of York. This new role will deliver an exciting change programme to transform OPPA’s communications, channels and processes in preparation for the public launch of our first institutional fundraising Campaign.

The Role

As Communications and Digital Manager, you will primarily be responsible for three sets of activity:

  1. transforming the University’s alumni and supporter digital platforms, including websites and social media channels;
  2. leading the Communications Team, including liaison with other teams and departments and development of standards, processes and templates;
  3. delivering a range of communications projects across online, email and print media.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues in data analysis, fundraising, alumni relations and supporter relations to deliver a truly audience-centric communications programme that offers a first-class experience to all alumni, volunteers and donors.
