York Law School

Building on the success and growth of the School, York Law School (YLS) is seeking to appoint two lecturers.

Why York

As the only Law School in the UK to base our undergraduate degrees on problem-based learning (PBL), we offer a distinctive and dynamic approach to teaching and learning.  In the 2014 REF, the School placed in joint first for the excellence of its research, 4th for its impact, and 5th overall.

The role requires you:

  • To develop research objectives, projects and proposals and carry out individual or collaborative research projects
  • To lead on and/or contribute to the production of research outputs and research outcomes.
  • To design, develop and deliver teaching across a wide range of modules and/or within a particular programme or subject area
  • To undertake effectively a range of administrative and managerial responsibilities

Key Requirements

You will have

  • A PhD in law or commensurate professional experience
  • An outstanding knowledge of a relevant subject area
  • A proven ability to develop high quality research projects and proposals and carry out individual or collaborative research projects which is published in leading peer-reviewed journals
  • An ability to design, develop and deliver teaching across a range of modules across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
  • An ability to undertake effectively a range of administrative and managerial responsibilities
  • A collaborative ethos
