Role Description

The University of York is a successful, research intensive member of the prestigious Russell Group of UK universities.

This is a new role, reporting to the Professional Services Finance Manager, but providing a strong business partner link to the Department of Estates and Campus Services, bringing together support for both revenue and capital expenditure to help ensure we provide best value for money in our investments. 

The University of York is finalising a new Estates Strategy that will encompass significant expenditure on refreshing, renewing and improving the physical campus for the benefit of students, staff and other stakeholders. You will provide strategic financial support to the Director of Estates and Campus Services and their Senior Management Team which will involve maintaining a physical presence within the Directorate for a proportion of the working week.  You will also provide a financial service within the Finance function as part of the Professional Services Finance team, leading a team to ensure that support to an operational level is maintained.

As a fully qualified accountant, with demonstrable experience of working in finance within a large and complex organisation, with the excellent inter personal and communication skills and the ability to form partnerships with departments and senior management, you will play a key role in ensuring the continuing growth and success of the University of York.
