The International Recruitment Team, located within Student Recruitment and Admissions, is responsible for the recruitment of international (non-EU) students. The principal remit of the Team is to contribute to the University Strategy by increasing the number of well qualified international students admitted to the University of York.
We are seeking to appoint a new International Officer to deliver our student recruitment and outreach activities in South Asia, Central Asia and non-EU Europe. The key purpose of the post is to initiate, plan, and execute recruitment activities, promote and develop brand awareness, maintain positive stakeholder relationships, and identify market opportunities for the University of York in the designated markets.
Educated to degree level and with experience in an education marketing or student recruitment role, you will be an excellent communicator able to develop sustainable relationships and positively influence a range of different stakeholders. This role will suit a candidate who is organised, adaptable and can exercise initiative to work independently on a variety of different tasks for sustained periods of time. Previous experience of working in international student recruitment would be an advantage.
This post involves extensive overseas travel (up to 12 weeks per year) and sometimes for up to 3 weeks at a time, so the ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends and unsocial hours is essential.
Salary will be at the start of Grade 6 of the University’s salary scale (£31,604 - £38,832 per year).
