We are seeking to recruit an experienced professional manager to lead the University’s central Graduation team in Student Services. This is an exciting opportunity for you to play a central part in planning and delivering one of the most important days in the lives of our graduands and their families. As the manager of the Graduation Team, you will ensure the excellent organisation and running of the University’s January and July graduation ceremonies.

You will be experienced in event planning, with a meticulous approach to detail and the ability to manage a complex programme of activity within a strict timescale. You will be able to use the University’s comprehensive student records system for student registration for the event. You will ensure that documentation related to graduation (from accurate presenter briefings to graduation parchments) are of the highest quality. Calm under pressure and with the ability to deal with the unexpected and to find solutions when things do not go to plan, you will be able to inspire confidence in your colleagues, our graduands and their guests. You will work with colleagues within and beyond Student Services to ensure that students experience a seamless registration, event and receptions. You will build strong working relationships with colleagues in External Relations, Commercial Services, Academic Departments, Facilities Management, YUSU and the GSA, and external service providers to ensure a high quality of service. You will be someone with the ability to collaborate effectively with others in the planning and delivery of the graduation ceremonies and will be expected to make a contribution to the development of the wider service working as part of the management team.

This post is available on a fixed term basis for 1 year.
