Role Description

Applications are invited for the post of HR Co-ordinator in the Hull York Medical School.  The joint medical school of the Universities of Hull and York, Hull York Medical School has a reputation as one of the UKs most exciting, contemporary schools. Established in 2003 – combining York’s strengths in biological science and health sciences and Hull’s Postgraduate Medical School and large clinical base. Since it was established, it has been inspiring doctors and academic leaders of the future with the research, skills and knowledge they need to look at things differently and advance improvements in healthcare around the world.

You will support the School’s Executive Officer in the co-ordination of HR processes, including monitoring compliance and effectiveness, together with quality assuring information in the HYMS People identity management system. You will liaise with the HR Departments of both Universities in order to provide specialist advice and guidance to the wider team. You will be proficient in the production of written reports and statistical summaries for routine analysis. Through these important activities, you will help ensure that the School’s Executive Office has an accurate and up-to-date overview of all the School’s people resources and associated funding.

You will have exceptional organisational and communication skills and the ability to work proactively, independently and with initiative. You will work across teams and prioritise tasks to ensure that HR deadlines are met. As HYMS is a partnership across two Universities and many NHS organisations you will therefore need to be instinctively collaborative and able to develop strong relationships with a wide range of colleagues. The role will be primarily based on campus at The University of York, with generally one day per week spent on the Hull campus.

This is a full time post with a salary of £20,989 - £24,285 a year
