We are seeking to appoint an experienced professional administrator, to join our busy and varied Research Student Administration team based in Student Services. The team works collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders and funders both within and beyond the University to ensure the seamless administration of the research student journey for those pursuing Higher Degrees at the University of York.
You will become an expert in the policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations of the University and Research Funders relating to research students, and work closely with the University Deans and Departments to develop, advise on and implement University policy and processes. You will use your experience in financial management to support the bid, allocation, management and reconciliation of highly complex research student funding grants.
You will have experience of working in a busy administrative role within a large, complex organisation, and be able to demonstrate excellent customer service. You will have excellent IT and numeracy skills with the ability to work with a variety of software packages. You should have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and be confident in analysing and presenting information clearly and communicating effectively to a range of people in different formats. You will be able to organise your workload effectively, and you will be confident in working independently and able to demonstrate initiative. Experience of process improvement is desirable.
There are two posts available, one is an open contract and the second is a one year fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave.
