The Director of Research and Enterprise is a key senior management position at the University of York. This role provides leadership and management for the Research and Enterprise Directorate, one of the key services that supports our research, knowledge exchange and enterprise strategies.
Reporting the Registrar and Secretary, you will work closely with key senior individuals across the University to deliver our ambitions in research and enterprise, including the PVC for Research, PVC for Partnerships and Knowledge Exchange, the University’s Research Theme Champions, Faculty Deans, Associate Deans of Research and Heads of Departments. Your role encompasses both strategic development and service delivery across the entire research and enterprise trajectory. You will occupy a central and creative role in the ongoing development of our strategies, whilst also providing leadership, overseeing the delivery of all services and ensuring their continuous improvement.
You will be an experienced senior leader with the ability to provide the vision for the Directorate’s ongoing growth, harnessing the talent within your department and developing staff who are experts in their own professional specialities. This is supported by your understanding of the HE sector, funding bodies and priorities of the various stakeholders in the sector and a detailed understanding of the end to end research and knowledge exchange.
Salary is £79,000 - £98,000 (Senior Management Grade 10) plus excellent benefits. The position is available on a full-time (37 hours per week) open contract.
