Knowledge Transfer Administrative Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal, organisational and project management skills who can enthuse others about the benefits of University-business engagement.

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the administrative systems for the knowledge transfer funding schemes, as well as other business engagement programmes within the Business Development team which are currently managed by the Knowledge Transfer Manager, ensuring controls are in place to deliver accuracy, efficiency and timeliness. You will also be an excellent communicator liaising with University staff and business personnel and will be required to establish good working relationships across a range of disciplines. 

You will have numeracy and literacy skills with the ability to monitor expenditure against a financial account/budget and maintain a petty cash system. You will also be competent in the design and production of a range of information including promotional documentation and literature. You will also have thorough knowledge of administrative procedures and processes used in a busy office within a large complex organisation. You will also have knowledge of the full range of MS Office applications; particularly Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Social Media. 

The Business Development Team currently comprises of three Business Development Managers, each with a portfolio of knowledge exchange projects crossing several academic departments, and a Knowledge Transfer Manager who broker and administer projects under the Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme and other business engagement schemes designed to increase collaborative working between Universities and industry.

Salary will be within the range: £20,989 - £24,285 a year and the post is available full time on an open contract.
