Administrative Assistant (part-time)

Centre for Medieval Studies, King’s Manor

We are looking for a part-time administrative assistant to help in the Main Office of the Centre for Medieval Studies, based at King’s Manor in the centre of the City of York.   The CMS is a lively post-graduate research centre affiliated to the four parent departments of Archaeology, Art History, English and History.

This person will be helping the Administrator with the everyday business of the Centre’s busy office:  answering student enquiries in person and online, maintaining student files and information databases, coordinating field trips, distributing information and other such tasks associated with the smooth running of the Centre.

You will be proficient in office systems and word processing (Microsoft Office), possess a good level of oral and written skills, be educated to A-level standard and have a friendly outgoing manner with a sense of humour.

Salary will be in the range £20,989 - £24,285 per annum, reduced pro-rata. The post is part-time and the hours of work are 22.2 per week (0.6 FTE).
