Role Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated full-stack developer to help lead software development projects for research studies being undertaken in York Trials Unit. You will initially be working on creating and maintaining systems utilising an existing ASP.NET Web Forms framework, with a view to re-providing the required functionality utilising more recent technologies. You will be familiar with ASP.NET (in both VB and C#), Web Forms and MVC, SQL, and have a keen interest in modern web frameworks.

You’ll be expected to:

  • Design, develop and manage web-based systems and data reporting to support clinical trials;
  • Provide technical and programming support for colleagues using our databases and the data from these systems for monitoring and research purposes;
  • Contribute to the writing of database systems documentation, standard operating procedures and working practice guidance.

About You

You will have a First degree in a computer-related discipline or, exceptionally, substantial experience at an equivalent level.  You will have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues (including external collaborators), face to face, over the telephone and in writing (often using a non-technical style).  The ability to demonstrate that you can effectively organise and prioritise your own work to meet required deadlines is essential for this role.

What we offer

  • Salary in the range of £31,604-£38,832 per year
  • 38 days annual leave per year
  • Generous pension & life assurance
  • Employee Benefits Scheme, including childcare vouchers, cycle to work, health plans, gym membership, plus many others
  • Excellent public transport links
