Research Fellow – Statistician (Grade 6 or Grade 7)
Salary: £31,604-£38,832 (Grade 6) or £ £38,832-£ £47,722 (Grade 7)
Fixed term for 4 years, full time 37 hours per week
The York Trials Unit (YTU) is one of the UK’s leading centres for the design and analysis of randomised controlled trials. Due to the continued success of the Unit, we are now seeking to appoint a new statistician at either Grade 6 or 7. You will join a team of statisticians under the supervision of Professor Catherine Hewitt. The post offers the opportunity to be part of a large and successful multi-disciplinary Department, renowned for its methodological expertise and commitment to policy relevant research.
You will conduct high quality statistical analyses of trials, undertake statistical programming for checking, manipulating, summarising and analysing data, and assist (grade 6) or lead (grade 7) in the development of research proposals. You will be encouraged to undertake dissemination of your research through publications, seminars and conference presentations and contribute to the identification of possible new areas of research.

At grade 7 level, you will be expected to have a high level of statistical expertise, experience of supervising the work of others and a strong publication record.
