Role Description

The University of York is a successful, research intensive member of the prestigious Russell Group of UK universities.

Investment in capital infrastructure is a crucial element in ensuring the success of modern universities. The University of York is finalising a new Estates Strategy that will encompass significant expenditure on refreshing, renewing and improving the physical campus for the benefit of students, staff and other stakeholders. This level of planned expenditure requires the best support, advice and direction to ensure that good investment decisions are made and individual projects are managed well through the prompt, accurate reporting of costs.

Following the progression of the previous post holder to another role within the Management Accounts Team, we are looking for someone that can combine excellent financial skills with equally strong inter-personal and reporting skills to provide guidance, help ensure compliance with the University’s capital procedures and give high quality advice to decision-makers.

As a part-qualified accountant, with demonstrable experience of project appraisal techniques and report writing for senior management decision-makers, you will play a key role in ensuring the continuing growth and success of the University of York.

Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to Sian Mountain, Professional Services Finance Manager (01904 323993)

The University of York is committed to promoting equality and diversity
