Role Description

The University has set ambitious targets for student recruitment and widening participation at a time of increasing competition. These roles support the University’s strategies for student recruitment and admissions and widening participation. The Widening Participation team develops and delivers programmes of activity to support and promote the progression to higher education of people from under- represented groups. The Student Recruitment team promotes the University to prospective students, parents and advisers as well as schools and colleges through a range of activities.

We are recruiting two Graduate Ambassadors for full time posts for a fixed term period of 12 months.  These posts are expected to start in December or January.

These are exciting posts for a recent University of York graduate (graduated with an undergraduate degree in 2016 or 2017) who would like to join the busy and friendly Student Recruitment and Admissions office.

You will visit schools and colleges and work with young people from primary school upwards, to deliver activities and presentations about higher education and about what it is like to be a student at York.  You will attend higher education and careers fairs. You will also assist with a wide range of other activities, including residential events and Open Days, organised by the Student Recruitment and Widening Participation teams.

Experience of being a Student Ambassador and/or a Residential Assistant or other related work such as York Students in Schools would be a distinct advantage for this post.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 28 November.
