Role Description

You will provide day-to-day support for the two hardware teaching laboratories in the Department of Computer Science, including the preparation and maintenance of all equipment in the laboratories and liaison with academic staff to ensure appropriate provision of kit.

You will also help staff and students during taught practical sessions, and maintain a stock of electronic components and other items required to support the teaching of all hardware strands.

You will have at least 5 GCSEs, including Maths and a science subject, and have knowledge of electronic principles and practices, and safety regulations and procedures in workshops and laboratories. An effective communicator and problem-solver, you will be able to perform practical electronics tasks to a high standard and be competent working with high-voltage electrical and electronic equipment. You will also be familiar with Linux, Windows and CAD packages and experienced at record keeping.
