The Department of Education at the University of York is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Teaching & Scholarship) in Education. We are open to applicants from all fields of education.
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching on the Department’s undergraduate and graduate taught programmes and supervision of Masters dissertations.
The post of Lecturer (Teaching & Scholarship) in Education is suitable for an experienced tutor in a related discipline who has established a track record of high quality teaching and who is also committed to excellence in teaching and supervision. The person appointed will play a full part in the teaching, supervision and administration of the Department, and will join a collegial and supportive Department.
You should have a PhD in a relevant discipline or be nearing completion. You will have expertise in one or more areas of education and knowledge of a range of teaching techniques and methodologies to enthuse and engage students. Expertise in research methods would be an advantage, as would the ability to teach the postgraduate module ‘Teaching and Assessing Speaking Skills’ which runs in the Autumn term.
This is a part-time (60% FTE), fixed term appointment available from 1 October 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter to 30th September 2018.
