Role Description

Admissions Compliance Officer

Department: Student Recruitment and Admissions
Based at: Campus West, University of York

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, proactive Admissions Compliance Officer in a new role within Student Recruitment and Admissions (SRA). The post is full-time, and fixed term for two years.

This role will support the postgraduate and undergraduate admissions teams in ensuring compliance with internal and external (legislative) regulations. This is a key role in managing the University’s UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Tier 4 compliance in admissions, and will have responsibility for monitoring changes issued by regulatory bodies, including UCAS, UKCISA and UKVI and in areas including equality and diversity, criminal convictions and disability.

With a flexible, proactive approach and the ability to interpret regulations for a number of different audiences, you will be able to write and implement policies and procedures that ensure the University is compliant with a number of external bodies in our admissions function.

Reporting to the Postgraduate Admissions Manager, this post will work with colleagues across SRA, central support services and academic departments, as well as forging links with external agencies.

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Emma French, Postgraduate Admissions Manager, email: or tel: 01904 323535. Interviews for this post will be held on 5 October 2017.
