Role Description

The Directorate of Estates & Campus Services [DECS] develop and maintain the University estate, providing high quality facilities and support for staff and students. Our role is 'to provide services and facilities to the core business of the University and the wider University community’.

The Role
Based in DECS is a team of Facilities Managers who oversee the management of buildings and associated support services. Due to the University’s continued growth, we’re now looking to expand this team with the introduction of an External Facilities Manager. Your role will be to liaise and coordinate the planning, use and design of the external areas throughout the Campus. You will work alongside University stakeholders and colleagues and in particular with both the current team of Facilities Managers and the Grounds Maintenance Manager. You will oversee health and safety and monitor the performance of Departments and Colleges in meeting the requirements of the University’s health and safety policy.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree and post graduate qualification in Landscape Architecture and Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI)
  • Highly competent using a range of relevant software such as AutoCAD, Adobe CreativeSuite and/or SketchUP or equivalent
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly and confidently convey ideas
  • Experience of working on surveys, layout options, masterplans and landscape designs
  • Project Management experience
