The Centre for Industry Education Collaboration (CIEC) has an established reputation for creating highly respected teaching resources and delivery of high quality professional training to enhance science education and improve mutual understanding between industry and schools.
There is a vacancy for an experienced and enthusiastic administrator to join our extended team, housed within the Department of Chemistry, and including some staff members hosted by partner organisations, at regional locations. The post holder will be required to contribute to the design and creation of promotional materials, hence this position would appeal to applicants with creative or artistic flair.
You will be required to support the team in a range of activities, helping processes to run smoothly and contributing to the development new systems and routines where required, as well as being comfortable with being the only person working on some aspects of your duties.
The appointment would suit a person with experience of providing wide ranging administrative duties to support team of colleagues. You will have good, numerical and IT skills, ideally including desktop publishing and web creation, be methodical and organised and have an eye for detail. In addition you will be friendly and enthusiastic, with the flexibility to prioritise a varied workload and maintain a customer-service focus. Effective communication using a range of media is essential.
Applicants should have general education to include 2 A-level passes and GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C or above, or an equivalent educational qualification, or relevant experience.

The appointment is initially for a three year period with potential to extend and is part time, 30 hours per week, working times to be mutually agreed although there will be a requirement for flexibility to cover occasional whole day events.
