The Department of Philosophy seeks to appoint a full-time Associate Lecturer for a period of 24 months starting on 1st September 2017 to contribute to the Department’s teaching programme. You will be expected to teach a range of undergraduate modules: Ethical Theory, Applied Ehtics, God and Morality, Religious Ethics
You will be expected to teach and support students in a variety of formats (such as delivering lectures, leading seminars and workshops, one-to-one supervision and marking of student work). You will be expected to develop and aptly apply innovative and appropriate techniques and material which create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students.
You will have a postgraduate degree in philosophy or related area (or equivalent experience). You will also have detailed knowledge in philosophy sufficient to develop teaching and provide relevant learning support to students across different levels of academic ability; ability to design and deliver teaching material either across a range of modules or within a subject area and experience in teaching and learning in HE at undergraduate and/ or postgraduate level or in an evidenced similar context. A PhD in Philosophy or equivalent experience is desirable.
