We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well organised Alumni Officer to work within the busy Alumni team, in the Office of Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni (OPPA) at the University of York. A friendly and helpful manner is essential, combined with a flexible approach to work and the abilities to work well with both people and data. You will also be able to work to tight deadlines, think creatively and have an appreciation of providing excellent customer service.
Your primary purpose will be providing support to the Alumni and Volunteer Manager in relation to alumni and other stakeholder engagement and cultivation. You will support events and volunteer activities, as well deliver the social media strategy for alumni. You will be located within the Alumni team, but will work in close collaboration with colleagues across OPPA as well as the wider University.
With experience of working in a busy office environment, you will possess first-rate communication skills and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will also have excellent IT skills including word processing skills, the ability to use databases and spreadsheets and a thorough knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
