Developing employability is an essential feature of the offer that the University of York makes to its current and prospective students. Careers and Placements provide a range of opportunities to help students acquire paid work experiences that are designed to appeal to students, whilst also delivering tangible benefits to employers. The Placement Year programme, York Internships and the promotion of local vacancies are three key opportunities which form part of our employability offer; we are committed to building links with businesses to enable them to use the skills and enthusiasm of our students and graduates.
Working as part of the Placements Team within Careers and Placements, you will be responsible for leading our York Internships offer, and for generally promoting the engagement of our students and graduates within the regional labour market. Working closely with small businesses, charities and other organisations to promote the use of the skills and enthusiasm of our students and graduates, you will help in the design of appropriate student projects and facilitate the best possible outcomes for both employer, host and intern; providing efficient project administration and ultimately ensuring that the deployment of interns, placement students and graduates represents great value for money is central to the role.
