The York Festival of Ideas Graduate Intern will support the activities of the Events Office to deliver corporate and public events for the University, and particularly York Festival of Ideas 2026. You will help provide a professional events service by assisting in the organisation of a variety of events for the University in the lead-up to the Festival in June 2026, which will provide you with the skills and experience you will need to support the delivery of the Festival. Excellent people skills are essential, as you will work with a range of people both within and outside the University. Excellent organisational and IT skills are also required, as well as the ability to prioritise work, and work to tight deadlines in a busy office. You must be prepared to work unsocial hours as events are often held in the evening and at weekends. Events during this internship will be delivered both online and in-person, so you will acquire experience of these different types of delivery format.
The role is full-time only, and fixed-term, for up to a year depending on the successful applicant’s start date; the role will finish on 31 July 2026. It is essential that the successful role-holder is available to work throughout May until the end of June 2026 to support the delivery of York Festival of Ideas.
The post is full time only and the salary will be £25,249 per annum.
